Best pizza EVER. Remember the ir pizza from my childhood. But better. A chicago classic. A must have.

Years ago, before I met him, my husband had what he describes as the best fried calamari ever. He knew the general location but wasn't sure what it was called. We went on the hunt and found ourselves here at Porretta's. They do indeed have the best fried calamari we've ever had - light, tender, crispy, lemony, delicious. It's also home to a couple of our favorite pizzas. The Casa pizza is perfection with a thick shower of snowy parmesan that your teeth sink into, topped with juicy mild sausage and sweet cubes of tender-crunchy white onion. The new skinless pepperoni pizzas with honey are also terrific and on trend (honey pizza is everywhere nowadays). Most anything on the menu is very good. The pumpkin ravioli with sage is incredibly delicious here (it's usually a fall special) and the other specials are often great as well. The dine-in menu is a little more upscale with a lovely space good for dates. The carryout menu is more casual with a heavier emphasis on wings and pizza. We prefer dine-in. During the pandemic we have gotten a pizza now and then but are looking to forward to eating there in person again soon. This place, along with Pasta D'Arte on the northwest side, are our two most visited Italian restaurants in the city.

What IS this? It certaintly wasn't pizza. I've had thin crust many ways; New York-style, Neopolitan, but this was just a bland sauce with toppings on a dry cracker without character or any of that chewy delight that makes good pizza craveable. I can't believe we drove this far and paid so much for such an utter disappointment. I'm ashamed to say this was my 1st pizza from Chicago.

Went thos place with my friend. Our waitress was really nice. We had thin crust pizza, lasagna and appetizer of seafood? pizza was my favorite really crunchy and very hot when it served. I really love melted cheese and sausage on pizza. We ordered large size. ? ? Left over most of it but next day it was still tasty! I definitely going back once dine in okay in Chicago.

They are OPEN for DINE IN - Google is wrong, can't find a way to suggest an edit for that. Consistently great, real Italian cuisine. Very nice staff and the owner is there more often then not. Our go to for Italian.

Pizza is delicious, baked to perfection, loaded with toppings.. I eat here all the time.. the daily specials are a great deal.. try them once, and you will become a regular.

I have heard alot of mixed reviews about the pizza here, so I finally ordered a pie. I chose the "Sweet Heat" which is a pepperoni with spicy honey drizzled on top. Definitely more sweet than spicy. The crust complimented the sweetness very well. I could see myself dipping the crust into the spicy honey as a snack. Not my favorite pizza in the area, but I can see why they have a bunch of fans in the neighborhood. Saw a at least three delivery drivers carrying out alot of pizzas during my visit.

Porretta's is a gem in Chicago. I've been going to this restaurant for 50 years and have eaten here with 4 generations of my family. Johnny has kept the Porretta's tradition up and is willing to cater our events as long as we are still in within the Illinois border. Buon Appettito!

The pizza was salty chicken vesuvio had no potatoes and the chicken had no taste and then the fries was cold over cooked and it looked like it was just sitting there first time ordering from there and for sure will be the last payed over 60 dollars for food that was not good

Order all the time. One of the best pizza's in the area. All food is great with huge portions.

Nice area for private party of about 25. Easy parking and authentic taste! This trattoria is worth a stop. The pizza was great, and pasta sauce tasted homemade.

I put 5 star just because it’s the only way they will show it . But if I pay for my food I expect my food ! What’s so hard doing a pizza ? Always missing ingredients . This is the second time, try to give another chance . But never again !

This restaurant has an amazing menu! Everything tastes fresh and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing and the service is great. This is a family friendly restaurant, but also great for a date, or a get together with friends. The bar area is a great place for a meet up, chit chat, and delicious snacks. Delivery is also great and the food arrives hot. This is a definite MUST!!!

The spot is excellent and spacious, the meals was yummy and the prices were very inexpensive. quickly, effective service and very personal staff. Recommended.

Awesome pizza! Grew up in that neighborhood and we always went there when I was a kid. I'm 60 now and was great to stop in and eat there again! Had so much food had to take home with us. Hoping to get out that way again. Our waitress was fantastic too, as well as the owner. Recommend to everyone! Thank you!

Pizza was good. Chicken, green beans, sausage and peppers were great as well. Cocktails were priced fair.

Excellent quality food at reasonable prices! Wonderful, friendly service... I miss going to Little Italy, but this is just as good and much more convenient for nw siders!

I come to this excellent place many times as I like the good air that is characterizes this restaurant. The staff is very cordial and experienced. The service is very efficient. Most important, the food they prepare is first-rate. I ate there more than once and I was always joyful. The cost is honest. I highly suggest this place to all my friends.
